It's Tuesday, so that means it's time for our weekly #TechTip!
Spring is right around the corner, now is a great time to do some spring checks before firing the engine for the first drive of 2022. Tune in every Tuesday for another tech tip!
BATTERY: If you didn't leave your battery on a trickle charger, now is a great time to get it charged up! If requires, check the water level and top it off with distilled water. Now is also a great time to take a terminal cleaner and hit both the terminals AND the mating surface of the battery cables. When installing your battery for the season make sure the connections are tight! A loose connection can cause weak cranking or even no start!
Once you get her fired up, now is a great time to check your alternator output. A simple voltmeter test on the battery should be telling. At idle you should see north of 13.2 volts, note if you have upgraded to a fancy "single-wire" alternator, you may need to burp the throttle to get it to energize, many don't kick on till they hit 1,000 rpm after startup
We will see you next week for another #TechTip!
